SURROUNDED: DON’T LET GO OF MY HEART

SURROUNDED: DON'T LET GO OF MY HEART

SURROUNDED: DON’T LET GO OF MY HEART

I have fallen weak, strength no longer I can feign
I beg of you that over this heart you should reign

I am overcome with the many battles that are sent my way
Attacked from all sides, surrounded in my position I attempt to stay

I know you heard the insolence that came out from this heart
It was only pain from the moments from you I  had fallen apart

In dismay, fearing that you will not let me return, to the heavens my eyes cling
A fear that has weakened me beyond the torture these armies may possibly bring

How am I to stand this assault when you are my feet
If you deem fit death happily with open arms I will greet

I vowed I will carry on what you have asked me to achieve
You have told me to accomplish it though whatever I love I must grieve

To let go of all that I love I swear by you I have tried
But take me not to account if in pain of these losses these eyes have cried

Without you this excruciating pain I can no longer bear
With my heart in your hands this armor I will continue to wear

Without you I cannot wield this sword when you are my hands
How am I to fight the injustice and oppression spread throughout these lands

I come abased prostrating, with this heart sinking lower than this dirt
Do not distance me from yourself for what was caused by hurt
