Learn Ignorance

Learn ignorance

Pay heed oh wayfarer and try to know that you do not know
For learning has manifolds more ignorance than knowledge to show

Little do we know of what we do not know
A paradox, for only through knowledge can your ignorance grow

What we know is merely the foam from the waves of the ocean
Know it has been put there to keep us in motion

What all of humanity has come to know is but the rule’s exception
A pond containing the sea is but the soul’s deception

A powerful light has the ability to blind the eyes
Similarly an increase in knowledge can teach ignorance to the wise

The glass of knowledge is half empty, not full
The  sheep is hunted for its meat, not its wool

Thus knowledge does not satiate the hunger of the wise
For with each sip he beholds how far his ignorance lies
